Follow these instructions to put a CD-ROM in the caddy, insert  the caddy, and turn on the AppleCD SC.

1.  Open the caddy. 
 
     Hold the caddy so that the 
     thumb and middle finger of 
     one hand are pressing in 
     on the sides of the case 
     where it says Open.  
     Use your other hand to open 
     the lid. 

2.  Put the CD-ROM in the 
     caddy label side up.
       
      Try not to touch the bottom 
      surface of the CD-ROM as 
      you transfer it from the 
      jewel case to the caddy.  
      It's best if you handle it 
      like a phonograh record—
      by the edges.  
      Tip the front edge of the 
      CD-ROM down 
      slightly as you insert it so it 
      doesn't catch on the ledge 
      of the caddy. 

3.  Turn on the AppleCD SC.  
      Do this before turning on 
      your computer.

              IMPORTANT
If there are other SCSI devices connected to your computer, be sure that the first and last devices on the SCSI chain are also turned on.

4.  Turn ON your computer.

5.  Put the caddy containing 
      your CD-ROM in the 
      AppleCD SC.

      Insert the caddy in the 
      AppleCD SC with the label 
      facing up, shutter end first.

6.  Follow the instructions that 
     come with the CD-ROM 
     being used.
